Missouri: The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday that Missouri should use its Republican-drawn congressional map, then stayed that ruling until September 28 at 5 p.m. Central Time to allow another possible Supreme Court intervention. So, with election administration already underway, the map is back in the legal blender — because apparently a stable ballot is too much to ask from the people running democracy like a busted CB radio. Austin: AP reported Monday night that Wilber Rafael Garces Perez, a 28-year-old Venezuelan man shot by an ICE officer, was returned to a hospital after his attorney said ICE had detained him with a bullet still lodged near his spine. The attorney’s account said Perez had not received the medical attention he needed while detained; DHS said the shooting was under investigation with the FBI. That is not a policy debate over a proper Italian sub. It is a use-of-force case involving a wounded detainee, and it demands an independent, public accounting. AP reporting Axios Austin reporting
